Hello and welcome!
Welcome to my site.
I’m CA Jarrett and this is the bit where I tell you about myself and hope you don’t get bored and nod off.
Been writing since I was 12 or so, when I started rewriting Voltron stories to suit my own taste. This is now called fanfiction. I was a pioneer! Huzzah!
Anyway, eventually I found two other like-minded individuals and we created a vast world for our characters, mostly based on popular shows, books, and graphic novels at the time like Robotech, Elfquest by Wendy and Richard Pini, and A Distant Soil by Colleen Doran. It was around this time I discovered Piers Anthony, Isaac Asimov, and that CS Lewis had written more than the Chronicles of Narnia. I had a voracious reading appetite. My dad jokes that I’d rather read than eat, and it’s somewhat true.
Finished my first (admittedly wretched) novel at the age of 16, as pretentious and angsty a work as you would ever want to see. It is now snugly buried in a box amongst many other boxes, hopefully never to see the light of day.
Time moved on and family and jobs and so forth happened, but I kept writing. Mostly original IP, but some fanfic got sprinkled in here and there.
When Bioware’s Knights of the Old Republic came out, I was instantly smitten. And by “instantly smitten” I mean “obsessed to a frightening degree”, and with several others on the official forums created fanfiction site dedicated to the game and game-specific Star Wars lore. It was my great honor to host material from the great David Gaider, and even from other Bioware employees. This site garnered me a trip to E3 in 2004, to play with the super-awesome Bioware folks and to see what Obsidian Entertainment was doing with KoTOR 2.
I won’t talk about KoTOR 2 here. 🙁
Eventually, after years of inspiration from various books, comics, manga, and anime like Darker than Black and Blood Brothers I found Sasha Worthington poking around in my noodle, insisting to be let out. Her tale became The Ozymandias Saga, and while it has been languishing a bit due to other matters, the saga is ongoing and will have future installments!
One of those other other matters was Ed Greenwood, creator of Forgotten Realms, putting out a call for creatives to come and play in his worlds. I hastily signed up. And I am so, so very glad I did. While in transition now, I went from author, to curator of two of his worlds (epic fantasy Stormtalons and hard science fiction Under Deadly Stars), to an actual job-job helping them transition from a publishing hobby to a different sort of thing altogether, but I can’t say much about that just yet.
Soon, though…very soon…mwaha…
Now I’m working on this site and generating content for it for both future works and for Ozymandias. Ozy is an huge world, and ripe for expansion into gaming, graphic novels, and audio dramas, and it is my dearest wish to accomplish all of that and more in the years to come.
So, I very much hope you are still awake, and I also very much hope that you enjoy your stay here, exploring the worlds I have come to be a part of.
It’s my job to make you be a part of them, too!
